The systems were unveiled today at AIIM/On Demand, a major conference and exhibition for the document imaging industry.
"As a $3.4 billion market, colour MFPs continue to be the fastest-growing hardcopy product segment as more businesses realize the benefits of colour documents," said Keith Kmetz, vice president, IDC. "Adding to an already impressive line of products, these new systems will fuel Xerox's momentum to grab additional market share."
The new WorkCentre 7300 series print and copy at speeds ranging from 26 to 35 pages per minute colour and 28 to 45 ppm black and white. The systems also scan, fax and include new tools to integrate and improve workflows and manage colour costs. For example, onboard mailboxes and routing capabilities let users store commonly used documents, such as standard HR forms and brochures, for easy retrieval and printing directly from the device. In addition, customers can manage colour costs with easy-to-use access control features.
The new WorkCentre systems offer Xerox's advanced security features to protect the document, the device and the transmission path. An Encrypted Disk and Image Overwrite feature deletes images from the hard drive automatically upon job completion or on demand. Made standard in all Xerox multifunction systems in 2006, this feature helps customers protect confidential information that flows through the device.
"Xerox is continuing its rapid-fire rate of office product rollouts, making ours the broadest, fastest, most up-to-date line in the industry," said Russell Peacock, president, Xerox Office Group. "The new DocuColour and WorkCentre lines add faster speeds, top-notch security, and more ways to manage documents, making our customers more productive, efficient and ultimately, more competitive."
Advanced Multifunction Systems
- The DocuColor 260 colour printer/copier is the fastest colour system in the Xerox office line, printing and copying at up to 60 pages per minute in colour and 75 ppm in black and white. The system features the EFI Fiery embedded controller, which enables customers to easily program, monitor and manage workflow. As a result, the DocuColor 260 brings outstanding image quality and productivity to offices and departments that want to create their own high-end materials without having to invest in a full production press. This versatile system can create posters, direct-mail pieces, short-run brochures and manuals, as well as everyday business documents. The DocuColor 260 is available with an optional light-production finisher that offers increased stapling capacity, an interposer for tab stock-insertion, hole punching and a stacker tray. Xerox also is announcing the enhanced DocuColor 242 and 252 Digital Colour Printer/Copier, with the same high quality image output and speed as their predecessors the DocuColor 240 and 250, but with expanded finishing options and an enhanced user interface.
- The WorkCentre 7328, 7335 and 7345 colour multifunction systems are designed for small to mid-sized businesses or enterprise workgroups. In addition to the mailbox and workflow features, users can store scanned documents in multiple formats, including the new Microsoft XPS format and searchable PDFs. Documents scanned directly into a PDF format can be searched by their content, forwarded via e-mail, and stored on a PC, the Web or in a document management system. Scanned documents that are routed to e-mail or a repository are automatically encrypted, and remain so until unencrypted by the authorized recipient. In addition, the products include Xerox Standard Accounting, a feature that enables businesses to track usage, set limits for each user and manage costs. The WorkCentre 7300 products represent the first implementation of Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform on a colour multifunction system and meet the new requirements for the government's Energy Star program.
- The Xerox 4595 is a high-volume, black-and-white copier/printer to meet the continuing need for high volume monochrome office printing. With scanning speeds up to 100 images per minute and print and copy speeds up to 95 ppm, this system is a true workhorse for high-volume environments such as office workgroups, and educational and financial institutions. The Xerox 4595 is also available with the light-production finisher for a full range of output choices.
